Christy Georg (RAiR 2005)

Christy Georg’s artwork Insulating Helmet for Head and Ajna, made while the National Artist-in-Residence at Contemporary Craft, is included in the group exhibition “from Core to Surface” at the Center for Metal Arts in Jonestown PA September 12th – October 3rd, 2025 coinciding with the Cambria Iron Conference. https://centerformetalarts.org/events/exhibition/

 
 


In June 2025, she received a Society of North American Goldsmiths (SNAG Metalsmith) Professional Educational Endowment Scholarship and used it to attend a week-long enameling workshop at Anderson Ranch.

In April 2025, she won first place in the Pitch Competition of the University of New Mexico Center for Responsible Entrepreneurship Accelerator Program for my new business Rosie’s Eyes - premium safety glasses for working women. Also, her work was acquired through the New Mexico Art in Public Places by New Mexico School for the Arts in Santa Fe. They acquired “Monitoring the Dunes” - a frames series of 5 photographs (edition of 5) made while at RAIR in 2005.
