Jeannette Louie

Jeannette Louie is an artist who works with words and ideas; her work is shown widely on the East Coast, especially in New York City. She has her MFA from Vermont College of Norwich University in Vermont, and taught at William Paterson University in New Jersey.

“I lived in Roswell for three months and, during that time, created an installation entitled monochrome (for u.s.). It was a subjective portrait of an American interior comprised of b/w photographs, text drawings, and ‘Dullness Blooms.’ For 33 days, I crumpled a piece of paper and photographed it. The results of such an activity were images that became contemplative, beautiful, classic, and unassuming. In hindsight, they have become a memory of a certain time and place when I was content to be human.”
