Residency Director Position
Residency Director Position Announced
Calling all RAiR alumni: The Roswell Artist in Residence Foundation is looking for a new residency director. Historically, this position has been filled almost exclusively by former fellows of the RAiR program, and we’d like to continue that; we already have several strong candidates, but we want to make sure everyone knows about the opportunity.
The Residency Director is responsible for overseeing the six artists on the RAiR grant: identifying which artists would fit best into the community; helping orient them, welcome them, and establish guidelines and best practices about use of the facilities once they arrive; outlining the expectations upon their departure; and maintaining the grounds and facilities as well as the houses and studios so that they can be turned over in good condition to the next incoming artists. The director helps connect artists with people in the community and is one of the main public faces of the foundation.
The position requires a 3-5 year commitment, with an option to renew if interested. We hope that by limiting the term we will make the directorship of interest to more former residents who might welcome a way to come back and spend some more time on the residency without feeling they have to commit to it forever.
If you would like to apply, please send your letter of interest and cv/resume with references to Tracey Kikut, our executive director: tracey@rair.org. Applications will be accepted through July 7, 2025
