“I have drawn “Mt. Norwottuck” of the Holyoke Mountain Range for 38 years and yet still struggle, each drawing, to get the shape of the mountain right, which gives the drawing its life force. I have to scrape the oil crayon and reapply many times over; that, and getting the changing light from the sky falling on the earth right.”
